Women's tennis

The Harvard women's tennis team was unable to defend its ECAC title this weekend at William & Mary, as the host Tribe dominated the tournament with an overall score of 67 points. Harvard placed a distant second with 44 points.

Harvard's sole champions were the doubles combination of Cyndi Austrian and Kathy Vigna (the Crimson's number-one singles player). The tandem defeated William & Mary's Kirsten Chaister and Namratha Appa Rao, 6-1, 6-4, in the C flight final.

Martha Berkman reached the semifinals of the C singles flight and lost to Chaister, 6-4, 6-2.

In the consolation rounds, Princeton's Sue Palminteri defeated Kathy Mulvehal, 7-5, 6-0, in the C flight final match. Vigna bowed out in the A singles final.

Women's volleyball

The Harvard women's volleyball team was shut out by Brown this weekend. The 15-6, 15-8, 15-5 Bruin victory dropped the Crimson's record to 3-13 (2-5 Ivy). The match saw Brown run off several multi-point streaks to close out the battling Crimson spikers.

Women's rugby

The Radcliffe rugby team resumed play after a three-week lay-off by splitting a pair of games at the Great Pumpkin Tournament held at Cornell. The Black and White lost its first round match to Courtland, 12-6, but then came back in the consolation round to defeat Syracuse, 14-0.
