Harvard men's tennis players nabbed the top spots at the Rolex Regional Intercollegiate Championships held at Princeton this weekend.
Unseeded Crimson senior David Clark copped the singles title, and the duo of Peter Palandjian and Arkie Engle took the doubles crown. All three will represent the East in the Rolex national indoor championships, to be held in Richmond, Va. in February.
Palandjian was seeded second overall in the tournament, while teammates Bill Stanley (fifth) and Engle (eighth) also entered play with seeds.
"This was a very amazing tournament for us because it was coming on the heels of our first loss in ECACs [the Eastern team championships earlier last month]," Crimson Coach Dave Fish said.
"Harvard won the ECACs for the past five years and it was very disappointing to lose," Fish added. "We came into this tournament a little more realistic about our ability. We had set high goals [in the ECACs]. and didn't even finish a strong second to Columbia."
