The Harvard men's soccer team's version of the Yale game was cancelled yesterday because the field was covered with snow, leaving the booters with an overall record of 8-3-3 in regular season play.
The game, slated for Saturday at 1 p.m., would not have given the Crimson a chance to nab the Ivy League title, which Yale cinched when Penn topped Harvard, 3-0, last weekend.
This year's Ivy title is Yale's first since 1956, ending Columbia's string of seven straight Ancient Eight titles.
The point is moot, however, because on Monday the booters defeated Yale, 1-0 (2-1 on penalty kicks), in the first round of the NCAA tourney, and gained the home-field advantage for their next playoff game, Sunday against Boston University.
Yesterday's cancellation does not effect the Crimson's standing in the NCAA tournament.
