The Harvard golf team recorded scores of 304 and 359 in the New England Intercolliegiate Golf Championships held Monday and Tuesday in New Seabury, but finished well behind first-place Hartford.
The top five team members--Terry Murray, Tom Aucamp, Dan Mahoney, Patrick Kenary, and John Beizer--represented Harvard at the two-day event, which featured 30 colleges from the New England area.
Although Harvard led at the end of the first day, it fell out of contention the second day, when it played on a harder course and was affected by strong winds.
"Overall we're pretty happy," Aucamp said. "We're stronger than we were last year and we've only been back a week."
The Crimson's next match will be next Tuesday against Holy Cross and Williams.
