Players of the Week
NEW YORK-San Francisco Giants relief pitcher Scott Garrelts, who won two games and saved two last week, was named the National League's Player of the Week. Garrelts allowed only one hit and no runs and struck out 10 in 6 1-3 innings.
Centerfielder Tony Armas of the Boston Red Sox, who hit .450 with four home runs, was named the American League Player of the Week. Armas had two game-winners among his seven runs batted in and a slugging percentage of 1.100.
