The Harvard golf team had a mixed day yesterday beating Northeastern but losing to M.I.T.
The Engineers carded a combined 396 while the Crimson was a close second at 402. The Huskies were a distant third, with mark of 418.
Freshmen led the way for Harvard. Pat Kenary carded the team's low score with a 78 fellow Yalling Tom Aucamp chipped in with an 81. Co-Captain Jim Fearon also scored an 81.
"We were hoping to beat M.I.T," said Fearon, "but they have some good players this year so it wasn't that big an upset."
But the Cantabs, if not upset, ware at least disappointed about their loss. Co-Captain Chet Nastala noted that the two squads will meet next week at the Greater Boston Championships, but cautioned, "We will have to be sharp to beat them."
