The Harvard golf team did not fare too well in its second outing of the year, as it hosted Amherst and Tufts yesterday in a tri-meet.
Amherst finished up with 413 points, five ahead of the crimson (418) and fat ahead of Tufts (432). "We weren't very happy about our playing, but on the other hand it's only our second match." Crimson Co-Captain Jim Fearon said. "It was really cold today, but we were pleased to beat Tufts."
Freshman Pat Kenary and Co-Captain Chet Nastala were low scorers on the day, each shooting an 82.
Harvard will face MIT and Northeastern this afternoon. "MIT was never really tough in the past, but now it's got some incredibly professional golfers," Nastala said.
Northeastern should provide less stiff competition.
