The weather was perfect.

The opponent was perfect.

The play was almost perfect.

The Radcliffe rugby team pranced over Princeton Saturday, 14--4. The Black & White watched their record soar to 4--1, and certainly weren't lacking in confidence.

"I definitely plan on winning the Ivy League Championship this year," freshman Eliza Schwartz said.

Radcliffe totally dominated the play on Saturday, scoring all 14 points in the first half. Schwartz scored two tries, Alisse Balboni scored one try, and Heather Flewelling cashed in on a two point kick conversion.

In addition to scoring, the Black & White's A--side hit hard and played great defense--stifling the Tigers on their few scoring opportunities in the first half. After one half, the score stood 14--0.

The B--side, sparked by the A--side, played the whole second half, hit hard and stayed tough on defense. The Tigers' lone score came towards the end of the second half.

"The team is filled with an extraordinary amount of individual talent," Schwartz said. "One of our problems, however, is coming together and playing as a team."

If the Black & White can prevent the ball from getting stuck in the forward pack--a problem which resulted in its only loss (at the hands of Cornell)--it will be well on the way to solving this problem.

Sailing

The Harvard sailing team captured second place in competition for the Shell Trophy this weekend at MIT. The Crimson competed against 15 other squads from across the nation at the regatta.

For the 12 northeastern teams participating, the weekend served as a qualifier for the Atlantic Coast Championship.
