The Harvard women's lacrosse team will meet the University of Massachusetts at 2 p.m. Saturday on Soldiers Field in the quarterfinals of the 1984 NCAA championships.
The unseeded Minutemen advanced to the quarterfinals yesterday with a 6-5 overtime upset of Yale in New Haven, Conn. Harvard, the tournament's fourth seed, had a first round bye.
The two teams, which also met in last year's NCAA quarterfinals (UMass won that game, 7-6), played once earlier this year. The Crimson won that contest, 7-4.
Admission to Saturday's showdown will be $2 for students and $3 for adults.
In other first-round action yesterday, Lehigh defeated Loyola, 11-10 in double overtime, Northwestern toppled UNH, 6-2 and Delaware shellacked the University of Pennsylvania, 18-1.
As a result, Lehigh will be at top-seeded Maryland, Delaware will play at second-seeded Penn State and Northwestern will travel to third-seeded Temple for the remaining quarterfinal games.
