Men's Tennis

Unfazed by the absence of one of its top players, the Harvard men's tennis team yesterday celebrated the arrival of spring by trouncing Cornell, 8-1 at the Beren Tennis Center.

The Crimson despite the absence of junior Dave Beckman--sidelined for the weekend with a strained right knee that's kept him out of practice all week--swept the singles matches, coming out on the short end only in second doubles.

The netmen, now 6-1 for the spring (4-1 Ivy), face Army, taking on one of the more challenging opponents on their schedule today at 2 p.m. at home.
