The Harvard men's fencing team lost the last match of the day Saturday at the Indoor Athletic Building and, as a result, dropped the most narrow of decisions to a strong Princeton team.
The loss upstaged undefeated performances from both seniors Mike Murner and Steve Kaufer. Both went 3-0 on the day.
"We were extremely disappointed with the outcome." Kaufer said. "We've fenced tougher teams and done better."
The Crimson won the open division, 5-4, but lost the foil and sabre events, 5-4.
Jeff Levy's loss in the final event of the day to Princeton's senior Captain Don Steinberg gave the Tigers the important Ivy win.
