Hark! The Herald Angels see,
A new prof in the GSD*
The man's from Spain, oh, mercy mild,
The GSD is going wild.
Joyful, Joyful, they proclaim,
Jose Moneo is his name.
They searched from Europe to Cape Cod,
They even looked up at the Quad.
Hark, the Herald Angels say
In July he'll come to stay.
Lured from great hights overseas,
Now he can eat lunch at Elsie's
Joyful! Joyful! He's got tenure.
As the chair of Architecture.
After searching high and low
They felt this man should run the show.
Hark! The Herald Angels say
The day's been saved by ol' Jose.
He's praised for both art and teaching
Just the type that they've been seeking.
Joyful! Joyful! He's find.
In the realm of Spanish design.
They say this man can really lecture.
As head prof in Architecture.
Hark, The Herald Angels see
Moneo at the GSD.
Endowment's dropping, the Law School's shopping.
Now the GSD is hopping.
Joyful! Joyful! In Spain he's been,
Which is why we didn't reach him.
Goodbye, A.D. so long Spee,
Let's hear it for the GSD.
Now that he has joined our group,
He can get credit at the Coop.
Room was made at the School of Design,
When Professor Cobb** chose to resign.
Hark! The Herald Angels say,
The GSD has saved our day.
