A penalty kick in the final two minutes of play dashed the Harvard Rugby Club's hopes of heading to Philadelphia for the Eastern Championships as it fell to rival University of Massachusetts in a neck-and-neck 13-12 battle.
A devastating 10-0 setback in the first 5 minutes was a shocking blow to the team. But the ruggers fought back to narrow the margin to 10-6 at the half. Twenty minutes later, the Crimson pulled ahead 12-10 and continued to dominate the game.

Club President Mark Hissey '84 regretted nothing. "After falling behind, we pulled out from the bottom our very best performance all year. We were robbed."
