Two years after filling suit, the trial of a Brown art professor who claims to be a victim of reverse discrimination finally earns to court.

Testifying before the U.S. District Court in Providence, on February 1. Brown professor Rudolf Winkes charged that Dean of Faculty Maurice Glickman violated the equal pay provision of the Fair Labor Standards Act by intentionally awarding a higher salary to a female art professor of equal status.

liam Poore, presented evidence showing that since 1978. Winkes has received a salary roughly $5,000 less than his female colleague, Catherine Zerner. Winkes testified that Zerner, who is now on sabbatical, is the only other associate professor in the art history division of the art department.

Winkes' suit demands compensation for the salary disparity and the cost of his legal fees.
