One more chance.

For half the lifetimes of current Harvard water polo team members, the team has been losing to Brown. In that span Harvard has joined the select elite of non-California teams to develop proficiency in this grueling sport. Yet, the Crimson's nemesis eludes it.

Harvard meets the Bruins tomorrow at 6 p.m. in Blodgett Pool in the finale of the round-robin New England Tournament. Today the Crimson meets Yale and the University of Massachusetts. The Cantabs have beaten both squads before and should triumph over these two best of the rest again.

The Crimson can't help but look forward to the battle of the best. Head and shoulders above the other teams, Harvard and Brown guarantee to exhibit some of the best polo this side of the Sierra Nevadas. For the Crimson it is more than your average grudge match.

Harvard senior Co-Captains Steve Munstones and Dave Fasi have never beaten the Bruins, falling to them perhaps 20 times over the past four years. Twice this year Harvard has played the Bruins; the Crimson has bowed, 13-10 and 11-7.

"We have to play above our heads," Munstones said yesterday. "And then we could pull an upset. I'm afraid that they're just a step above, unfortunately." He also pointed out that Harvard's starters will have to maintain their usual first-quarter level of play throughout the entire game to counter Brown's phenomenal depth.

But if desire counts for anything, the team has a chance to beat the Bruins. Just once. As Fasi says, "I definitely want 'em."
