For the work just passed there were 13 repots of larceny greater than $100, and 12 reports of larceny less than $100. There were five cases malicious destruction. Two bicycles were stolen. The Harvard Police warned two trespassers off Harvard property, assisted the Cambridge Police is making one arrest, and called once for an emergency ambulance. There were no assaults or attempted assaults this week.
Three events this week were of particular interest.
Friday, November 11th: The Au Bon Pain bakery at Holyoke Center lost its four silver wastebins sometime between 2 and 5 a.m. The chrome coated receptacles which were kept outside the bakery, are valued at $135 each.
Saturday, November the Harvard Police officers assisted the Cambridge Police in breaking up a fight in front of the Hong Kong restaurant at about 2 a.m. Two young, white male area residents were arrested and one was hospitalized.
Saturday, November 5th: Police observed four white males running down Mt. Auburn street from its intersection with Holyoke street at 4:17 a.m. but did not stop them.
After a brief investigation, the officers discovered that the wooden arm blocking the entrance to the Apley Court parking lot behind Claverly Hall had been broken.
This is the fourth time the arm has been broken in as many weeks, police records indicate.
