Most of Brown's water polo team was in Florida: Harvard didn't play its two best players for more than a few minutes. Even getting the stars out of the way couldn't make the Ivy Tournament Saturday in providence competitive.
In its two games, the crimson, playing without senior star Dave Fasi and using his cohort Steve Munatones sparingly, romped over Cornell, 12-7, and stomped on Dartmouth, 16-0.
In its opening match against Dartmouth Harvard further handicapped itself by pulling goalie Brian Graham in the fourth quarter and allowing him to take a turn in the other end of the pool. The Big Green, however, couldn't take advantage of the stellar netminder's repositioning and it was unable to break the shutout, Graham, meanwhile, garnered a goal and two assists in his offensive stint.
Cornell proved to be more than competent, but the end result was the same. Harvard now looks to the crucial New England League Championships, to be held in Blodgett pool this weekend.
