University Service To Commemorate Child Psychiatrist

Services will be held in Memorial Church on November 19 for Dr.Richard D.Brodle 54,assiatant professor of psychology at Beth Israel Hospital who died of a brain turnor October 26.

Brodie was in charge of child psychology at Beth Israel Hospital, and was a member and the chairman of the chairman of the Examine Board of the American Board of Professional Psychology.

Dr.Robert C.Misch, co-founder with Brodie of the hospital's clinical and psychological training program yesterday praised Bordello's personal influence on students, "He could bee the growth potential in people, patients of students, and bring that out. "Misch said.

Colleagues remember Brodie for the number of his activities and droll sense of humor. "He packed enough in for two lifetimes, "MIsch said, adding that Brodie brought perspective to his work in psychiatry, a field "notoriously, lacking in common sense."

A Newton resided, Brodie graduated Phy Beta Kappa from Boston University, received his M.D.and Ph.D.from the same institution. P>He co-authored a pioneering article on mothers of "school-phobic children" in 1974 and has published numerous other articles in other scientific magazines.

Brodie leaves his wife, Marian Winter bloom, and two children, Robert M.Brodie and Richard R.Brodie 83,an applied math concentrator in Ireland House.
