Water Polo

THE MAIL

To the Editors of The Crimson:

Jim Silver's article in November 11's Crimson discussing the water polo program does point out the problem with the water polo program--Harvard has not shown that it takes the sport seriously. For a school with so fine a swimming team, this is as remarkable as it is unfortunate.

From a spectator's point of view, the school does nothing to promote fan interest in this fast-moving, exciting game. Matches receive almost no advance publicity. When Harvard hosts tournaments, it is impossible to find out the times of specific games. Why should a top player come to a school where only a few dozen people come out to back the team even when it plays at home? Eugene Pagano   HLS, LL.M. candidate
