NEW HAVEN, Conn-Star tailback Paul Andrie rumbled for, 1.18 yards and Bill Moore kicked three field goals, including a 52-yarder for a school record, to spark Yale to a convincing 37-19 win over Princeton in the 110th edition of their annual rivalry at the Yale Bowl Saturday.

The victory evened the Elis' slate to 3-3 in the Ivy League (4-5 overall) and made it possible for them to garner the Big Three championship with a win at Harvard next Saturday.

Early in the game. Yale successfully utilized a ball-control offense in the gusting wind, stringing together scoring drives of 72, 77 and 56 yards to build a 16-7 halftime lead.

The onslaught continued in the second half, wearing down the Tiger defense with three more touchdowns. Yale quarterbacks Joe Dufek and Mike Luzzi both performed well, combining to hit on seven of 11 passes for 97 yards and a touchdown.

Meanwhile, the Tigers' much-heralded air attack, piloted by signal-callers Brent Woods and Steve Cusma, was limited to 140 yards by the Yale defense.

Princeton took an early 7-3 lead on a one-yard plunge by Woods in the first period, but several special team miscues stalled the Tiger attack until Roland Warren added a second TD on a two-yd. run late in the third quarter.

Yale scored its touchdowns on runs by Andrie, John Neville and Dufek. Yale's final seven points came on a 29-yard aerial from Luzzi to split end Rick Crew.
