Richic Hebner had tour hits--including his second homer in five games, a double and two singles--and drove in three runs yesterday, powering the Detroit Tigers to a 6-4 win over the Boston Red Sox in Winter Haven Fla.

The Tigers whacked three Boston pitchers for 13 hits in raising their exhibition record to 3-2.

Former Michigan quarterback Rick Leach, trying to win a major-league job as a non-roster player in spring training, belted his first homer and a single. Champ Summers and Lou Whittaker also had two hits apiece for the Tigers.

Boston starter Dennis Eckersley was tagged for six hits, including the homers by Hebner and Leach, in a three-inning, four runs-allowed stint. Bob Stanley surrendered two more runs in the middle three innings, before rookie newcomer Jim Dorsey blanked the Tigers for the rest of the way.

The loss was the second straight for the Red Sox.
