Bok reportedly has suggested that individual Houses assume greater roles in supporting particular ethnic groups and extracurricular organizations. Explaining that he has been "trying to initiate a process where I could help wherever possible," Bok this week said he would like to leave the masters "alone as much as possible so they can use their direct experience to do what is most appropriate."

The Committee on undergraduate Education (CUE) this week decided to seek a ban on all exams during reading period. After some debate, however the student-Faculty group decided to allow professors to file petitions with the Committee on the Administration of Educational Policy if they want to seek an exception to the no-test rule. During a lengthy discussion of academic rules and regulations, CUE members also agreed to propose that classes other than review sessions be forbidden during the last two days of reading period. CUE's proposals will be presented to the Faculty Council.
