To the Editors of The Crimson:
I do not think it necessary to provide a lengthy response to the attack on myself and my organization (the Democratic Socialist Organizing Committee) by the Spartacus Youth League printed in your letter section of October 26. I have always believed that the best way to discredit the SYL is to let them speak (or write) for themselves, and they have reaffirmed my faith with their latest diatribe. I would, however, like to briefly describe our meeting policy.
Harvard/Radcliffe DSOC meets every Sunday night at 6:00 in the Adams House small dining room. We meet to discuss current events, socialism, and our various political activities (the David Sullivan campaign, pro-choice work, and so on). All members of the H/R community are welcome, regardless of political belief. No member of the community has ever been asked to leave, including members of the SYL. I should add, however, that those people who believe in, or are at least sympathetic to, democratic socialism will most enjoy our meetings. I am frankly surprised that the SYL is so anxious to attend our meetings, just as I would be surprised if members of the Conservative Club suddenly began attending. In any event, all members of the community willing to respect simple democratic procedures are welcome. Guy Molyneux '81-4
