University Police arrested an unidentified man in Holyoke Center last night after a fight with a Harvard police detective.
After the fight, which occurred at about 10 p.m., the suspect was tackled by as many as five Harvard police officers, put in the back of a patrol car and taken from the scene.
The suspect was taken to Cambridge City Hospital, treated for a head wound and then released back into police custody, hospital officials said last night.
Witnesses at the scene said the suspect was bleeding and looked hurt, but added that the officer did not appear to be seriously injured.
University police would identify neither the suspect or the officer, and refused to comment on the incident.
