The School of Public Health (SPH) this week received a grant of nearly $280,000 from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to fund fellowships for doctors and dentists studying health policy and management.
The grant is the second from Kellogg to the SPH in the last year. The first award of about $450,000 funded curriculum development for a program intended to prepare doctors and dentists for positions as policy analysts, health planners, or administrators of health care programs.
The new grant will provide support for post-doctoral participants in the program. They may pursue a one-year track leading to a master's of public health degree or a two-year option culminating in both a master's of public health and a master of sciences.
Participants in the program will study management, economics, epidemiology, biostatistics, health services administration and environmental health.
