The Kennedy School has received a $130,000 grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to finance 16 fellowships and curriculum development in the program for senior executives in state and local government.
The grant will help pay tuition for 16 local administrators in the federal Community Development Block Grant program (CDBG) to attend the school's three-week summer program, Michael S. Dukakis, former governor of Massachusetts and director of intergovernmental studies at the school, announced last week.
The money will also pay for up to ten case studies of community development for use in the summer program and regular Masters of Public Administration program.
The program for state and local executives is one of three summer programs providing government administrators with practical training in effective government management.
