The Harvard golfers captured their second straight 36-hole Greater Boston Championship yesterday with a 26-stroke triumph at the Concord Country Club.
Senior Jim Dales, hampered recently by an inconsistent putting, unveiled his Jack Nicklaus stroke to gain individual honors with rounds of 76-80-156.

The Crimson's Chip Raffi, with rounds of 82 and 75, placed second while sophomore Carroll Lowenstein carded an 82 and 76 for a close third place finish. The linksters scoring was rounded out by John Thompson, firing home efforts of 80 and 78, and Sanjeev Mehra's 82-77-159. The linksters combined showing of 788 paced the five-school field. Boston College collected second place with 814 and the Northeastern Huskies trailed at 822. MIT and Tufts tied for the booby prize with a team card of 829.
Dales had an impressive front nine effort on his first 18 holes of one-over par 35. "I hit the ball really well on the tough first six holes," Dales said, adding that he knocked home two longer putts for birdies on five and six.
The captain faltered on the back nine, three putting five of the last six holes. "I simply lost my concentration and my game suffered because of it," Dales said following the victory.
Raffi had a up and down tournament, mixing in five bogeys with three chip-shot birdies. These late-hole inconsistencies hinderedhis tally and enabled Dales to eke out the one-shot decision.
