Committee to Screen X-Rated Films

Campus News

Northeastern University has formed a five-member committee to decide which x-rated films and other movies may be shown on campus.

The committee members, a majority of whom will be students, will consider the purpose and merits of proposed films and whether people in the university community might find them objectionable.

Previously the administration has decided what films may be shown, Richard Scott, associate director of student activities, said. One or two x-rated films are shown on campus each semester, Scott said.

"We may have to decide on other movies also, if they are seen as racist, sexist or in any way discriminatory to the university community," Scott said.
