It's hard enough to get people who are willing to be House masters, especially when the people living in your House don't want to be there. But when Rulan and Theodore Pian resigned their position as co-Masters of South House so they could pursue their respective careers, the University had to find someone to fill this less-than-desirable position. The man chosen to try to cure So Ho's ills was Dr. Warren E.C. Wacker, director of University Health Services and sometime Master of Kirkland House.
