The second annual Harvard-Radcliffe Black Alumni/ae Convocation will include panel discussions on the Bakke case and South Africa, as well as talks on admissions, affirmative action, undergraduate life, the Du Bois Institute and Afro-American studies.
About 100 of the 1400 black Harvard grauates will attend the convocation, Michael Scavella '77, a member of the coordinating group, said yesterday.
The main speaker in the morning session will be Muriel Snowden '38, co-founder and co-director of Freedom House, Inc., in Roxbury and a member of the Harvard Board of Overseers.
The convocation will help black alumni to maintain contact with developments at Harvard and with each other, as well as enable a broader exchange of ideas about topics of interest throughout the world, Scavella said.
The convocation will be held May 20, beginning at 9 a.m. in the Hilles Library Penthouse. All discussions are open to the public.
