J.V. Hoopsters Win Close Game On the Road, 85-81

A young Harvard men's J.V. basketball team took home a narrow win last night, topping St. Thomas More College, 85-81, in Connecticut.

Freshman center David Kohn led the Crimson attack, pumping in a game-high 18 points. Rookie coach Billy Raynor said last night he was very pleased with the efforts of the predominantly freshmen squad. "Every player turned in a very solid performance," he said.

Sophomore Sam Watkins and freshman David Durham turned in strong showings coming off the bench, Watkins sparking the Harvard offense with an 8-point effort.

Despite a starting five that includes four freshmen, the J.V. Cagers kept pace with St. Thomas More, holding on to the narrow margin of victory.

The Crimson will travel to Boston College Wednesday night at 5:30 to battle the always-tough Eagles.
