Jewish Law Students

The Harvard Jewish Law Students Association, a new campus organization entering its first full semester, is currently trying to establish programs that will express members' concern about legal problems facing Jews here and abroad, notably in the Soviet Union.

Donna Arzt, who chairs the group's International Human Rights Commission, last night said her division of the organization is focusing considerable energy on the Soviet Union's immigration laws and imprisonment of dissidents.

The group is also seeking financial support that would allow it to establish a legal aid office in Mattapan, Mass. The center would provide legal services for the Jewish poor, Arzt said.
