Miss Eunice Fickett, who has been the pillar of The Crimson's business office since she came here in August, 1961, leaves the paper today to begin her retirement in Sarasota, Fla.

For the last 16 years, Miss Fickett has counseled business managers and kept them--and the paper--above water, without losing the grace and good humor for which we will always remember her.

Miss Fickett witnessed a variety of mishaps at 14 Plympton St. ranging from dead piranha in her office to fistfights and robberies, but has retained a cool head throughout.

In the process, we have all come to see her as a source of advice and comfort, one that we will sorely miss.

Miss Fickett's knowledge about collecting bad debts as well as her beloved Red Sox will be hard to do without, but we will miss her companionship much more.

Generations of Crimson editors extend their deepest affection and appreciation, and wish Miss Fickett all the best for her future.
