Marcia Guttentag, research associate and lecturer at the School of Education and resident tutor in Mather House, died November 3 in New York of a sudden heart attack. She was 45 years old.
Guttentag, who directed the Social Research Project at the Ed School, published eight books and edited the two-volume handbook of Evaluation Research.
She was president and founder of the Evaluation Research Society, president of the Division of Personality and Social Psychology of the American Physiological Association and president of the Society of Social Issues.
Amy Aldrich '78, a Mather House student, referred to her as "very accessible, very sociable, and very well-liked by students."
A memorial service by Rabbi Ben-Zion Gold will be held in the auditorium of Longfellow Hall on December 2 at noon.
