The South Korean connection continued to make headlines last week as the U.S. Justice Department announced that it has begun an investigation into a $1 million gift to the University because the donors--the Korean Traders Association--failed to register the gift with the Justice Department as federal regulations require.
Despite the confusion over that donation, President Bok and other University officials are planning to seek more gifts from that part of the globe. Bok and other officials leave next Wednesday for a whirlwind fundraiser--four countries in two weeks--to raise money for the East Asian Research Center.
