Red Sox Streak Continues, Celtics Downed by Cavaliers

Today is a sad day in Beantown. Not only are papers due and exams coming up, but the Red Sox extended their losing streak to ten and the Celts took their first beating in the Eastern Division finals.

But even more depressing is that both lost to teams from Cleveland. The Red Sox fell to the Indians, 4-3, and the Celts fell to the Cavaliers, 83-79.

The Sox started their game on a positive note, by taking the lead in the first inning on a three-run homer by Carlton Fisk. But the Red Sox offense dried up, and 12 batters in a row failed to get to first.

In the seventh, Alan Ashby returned the favor and hit a three-run homer to put the Indians into the lead for good. The victory ended the Indians three-game losing streak.

The Cavs were helped by the scoring of Jim Cleamons and Austin Carr, who had 18 and 17 points respectively.
