FLAG DAYS

Catfish Hunter of the New York Yankees twirled a three-hitter at the Baltimore Orioles last night, shutting them out, 3-0, in Baltimore.

Thurman Munson, a perennial bird-shooter, touched Oriole starter and loser Ross Grimsley for a two-run single in the fifth after the Yanks had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning.

With only about six months left in the division race, the Yanks now lead the second-place Orioles by half a game, and the idle Red Sox, who were "colded" out here yesterday, by a full game.
