Coleman H. Terrel '80, a South House resident, said he was sitting in front of Hilles Library at about 6:00 p.m. Monday when an unidentified youth struck him over the head with a blunt object.
Terrell, who received three stitches in his head, said his assailant did not try to rob him. "He just stepped back and when I screamed, he ran," he said.
Though the attack has made him more cautious about "sitting in front of Hilles," Terrell said "You have to go on living."
The Harvard Police have investigated the incident, but no arrest has been made because Terrell could not identify his attacker, Robert G. Mudge, coordinator of records and communications, said yesterday.
Though on-campus muggings are not rare, this incident was unusual because there was no robbery involved, Mudge said.
