Eliot House's "An Evening of Champions" figure-skating show--tomorrow and Saturday night at the Watson Rink--should raise more than $150,000 for the Jimmy Fund for cancer research, Horace Henriques '77, its chairman said yesterday.

So far the show has made $132,000, mostly gifts from Eliot Alumni and Boston area skating clubs.

The funds raised will go to children's cancer research and to the Jimmy Fund Hospital in Boston, which until last year had never charged any of its patients and now only asks for a nominal fee.

"An Evening of Champions"--now in its seventh year--was put together this year by a 45-member Eliot committee headed by Henriques. Most of the 212 students who signed up to be ushers and hawkers for the show are also Eliot House residents.

The show is being taped by WGBH for broadcast around Christmas. The local television station will also have a phone line after the show for contributions.

The Eliot extravaganza will feature Judy and Jim Sladky, five time United States national dance champions and 1972-75 stars of the Ice Capades, and David Santee, currently the U.S. men's silver medalist. Also appearing are Lorna Whitton and John Dowling, the Canadian national bronze medalist.

Scott Hamilton, who was a Jimmy Fund patient when he was two years old, will also perform this weekend. Hamilton was expected to die of a form of leukemia by the age of six. Now, at eighteen, he has already competed in the Men's Senior Championship.

Sophomore Mahlon Bradley and junior Meg Streeter will be Harvard's representatives. Bradley's performance in national competition last year puts him in the Olympic and World competition class.

Also skating will be Stof Serafin who has been blind since birth, but learned to skate by sound.
