Exorcism of Banshees and Bogies from Quincy House and adjacent areas (including Cahaly's). Charles Dunn, Master of Quincy House and professor of Celtic Literature, will preside over the exorcism of Quincy House demons in a procedure that has been repeated on the first Sunday of the year ever since he became master. This year the ceremony was delayed a week because the Stuart Pipe Band, with perhaps the most enthusiastic bagpipe blowers in New England, was occupied last week with the Patriots' game. (Dunn says that may explain the Patriots' loss last weekend).
Sunday brunch will be sarved in the Quincy courtyard, where the ceremony will take place (with a grand finale from the roof of new Quincy). Quincy House residents who don't like bagpipes might want to eat somewhere else, but Dunn plans to remove cat-, dog- and hi-finappers from the area, and even if you don't live in Quincy you might obtain some good karma. The ceremony, about an hour long, will start at 1:30.
