THE STAGE

Oh, Kayl Lots of singing and dancing. See the review on page two. Tonight through Saturday at the Loeb at 8 p.m. except Saturday at 9. Student rush tickets, available half an hour before curtain, $3.75.

Ah, Wilderness. An uncharacteristically cheerful work by Eugene O'Neill, this is a nostalgic evocation of a normal American small-town boyhood--the king of boyhood O'Neill might have liked to have had himself. Complete with puppy love, comic uncles, and summertime pranks, the play sometimes verges on sentimental corn. But a good production--such as this one by the BU Summer Repertory Theater is likely to be--can make it all work wonderfully, and it's worth seeing just to get a glimpse of the lighter side of O'Neill's psyche. It's hard to believe that the same family--O' Neill's own--was the model both for this happy-go-lucky crew and for the bunch of embittered alcoholics and drug addicts in Long Day's Journey into Night. Tonight through Saturday at the BU Theater, 64 Huntington Ave.

Corral. An original "Western musical," compiled from old Wild West writings and diaries and complete with old Wild West songs. Wednesday and Thursday at 8:30 at The Proposition in Inman Square.
