The Hemingway Play. This is the biggie of the Loeb's summer season, the world premiere of a play that won the National Playwrights Conference Award in 1973. Author Frederic Hunter has chosen to tell the story of Hemingway's life in a rather unorthodox way--four different Hemingways, each representing the writer at a different stage of his life, meet each other during the course of the play, Advance word is that the play is no less than "great," and an excellent cast has been assembled for its debut. Opens at the Loeb Wednesday and continues through August 9, with performances at 8 Monday through Friday and at 5 and 9 on Saturdays. Tickets are $5.50 and $6.50, but Harvard-affiliated people can get them for a dollar less, and students are entitled to rush tickets at $3.75.
The Pocket Mime Theatre will be giving a special performance of some of their most popular pieces tomorrow night at 8 at City Hall Plaza. It's peaceful and quiet and it's free.
