Testimony was completed last Tuesday in a Middlesex County Superior Court hearing to decide whether Dunkin' Donuts will be allowed to move into 24 Boylston St.
Participants in the hearing said the judge may-reach a verdict on the case sometime in the next two weeks.
Members of the Harvard square task force and Harvard Square businessmen field suit several months ago against James de Vellis, owner of the proposed franchise, and the Cambridge zoning board of appeals, charging illegal authorization of the Dunkin' Donuts Harvard Square permit.
A Tuesday night hearing on a Cambridge sign ordinance law that would ban all billboards and flashing and protruding signs attracted more than 50 people speaking both for and against the proposal.
City Councilor David A. Wylie said the city planning department will now review the ordinance, readying it for submission to the city council.
"The bill shapes up to be possibly the single most important piece of legislation coming before the council this year," Wylie said.
Wylie said the city council may discuss a $5.8 million parking garage to be built on Nutting Rd, next to the MBTA subway yards, at tonight's meeting.
