The freshmen tennis team surrendered its undefeated status yesterday by losing to a tough Williams squad, 6-3.
The Crimson held its own in the singles, as it won three and lost three. However, it dropped all three doubles matches to the Williams team.
Number one player Art Scherer, who was elected captain earlier in the afternoon, won his match, as did Ned Bacon at three and Bill Nolan at six.
The turning point, though, came in the number two doubles match, where the Crimson dropped all the marbles in the tie-breaker in the third set by a close 5-4 margin. The loss brought the team's record to 3-1.
