Crimson Thinclads Face Tigers, Elis For Big 3 Crown

Harvard's varsity indoor track team goes after its sixth straight Big Three championship today, facing the thinclads of Princeton and Yale at Princeton's Jadwin Gymnasium. The Crimson is 4-1 this year, having placed second in last week's Greater Boston Championships.

The stiffest competition for the Harvard troops will come from the Tigers, who have clawed their way to a perfect 8-0 record this season. The Princeton thinclads are looking to become the first undefeated track squad in the school's history.

Highlighting the Princeton floor show is the spectacular two-mile relay team of Chuck Norelli, Jeff Weicksel, Craig Masback and Chuck Hedrick. The group has competed at the Melrose Games and the Philadelphia Track Classic, with a top time of 7:40.3.

Balanced Forces

Sophomore pole vaulter Dan Willges leads the balanced Tiger forces in the field events, showing a 15 ft. 6 in, effort as his lifetime best. The second leading point-getter on the Princeton team, Willges will be facing Harvard co-captain Blayne Heckel in the vault today.
