Alumni officials started a project this week that will eventually enable the Board of Overseers and other University Committees to choose its members from extensive computerized files on selected alumni.
Dr. Chase N. Peterson '52, vice president for alumni affairs and development, said yesterday that his office would eventually have a computer "directory" his office could use to find alumni with needed skills.
He said he has appointed Jane Wilson, a new member of his staff, as coordinator for human resources data and head of the five-year project.
Directory
The directory will make easier the talent-searching tasks of groups like the visiting Committees and the Committee on Schools and Scholarships, Peterson said.
He added that the project was the result of a three-year investigation of ways in which the University could make better use of its pool of talented alumni.
