The Radcliffe Swim team, one month away from its close victory over Brown, faces even greater opposition from Maine at the IAB tomorrow.

Maine took third in the New England Championships last year and is considered a stronger team than Brown, Radcliffe coach Alice McCabe said yesterday.

Sato Seeks Victory

In the diving, tri-captain Nancy Sato, who took first in the New Englands last year, looks to repeat her victory over Brown. Maine's top diver of last year is inelligible and will dive unofficially in the meet.

Radcliffe freshmen Laurie Downey, Carol Moore and Diana Borden will challenge Maine's dominance in the freestyle and the breaststroke. Downey took first laurels in the 200 yd. free against Brown while Borden nabbed top spots in the 100 yd. breaststroke and the 50 yd. breaststroke. Moore swims both the freestyle and the breaststroke, and placed second to Borden at the Brown meet.

The freestyle relay of Downey, Sato, Borden and Kyle Patterson, which set a record against Brown, should figure in the Radcliffe scoring.

In the backstroke, tri-captain Kris Krendl, who was sick earlier this week, is doubtful at the moment. Sato, Marie Rhoem and Susan Sawyer look to provide depth in the event. Downey is favored in the fly with Rhoem and Sawyer picking up the slack.
