Carl Yastrezemski belted two home runs and singled across another run, leading the Boston Red Sox to a 4-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals last night.
The Red Sox jumped on Nelson Briles for two runs in the first inning and were in front the rest of the way to post their fourth victory in a row.
Tommy Harper led off the first and came all the way around on a double by Doug Griffin, who extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Yastrezemski then lined a single to right, scoring Griffin.
Briles settled down after the first but reinjured his right knee and had to be helped off the field after making a pitch in the fifth. He originally dislocated his knee in spring training.
