When the Committee on Houses and Undergraduate Life passed a resolution last week in favor of equalizing Harvard's admissions, Dean Rosovsky said he would wait to hear from the Strauch Committee on the Harvard-Radcliffe Relationship before taking any action.
Karl Strauch, professor of Physics and chairman of the committee, said yesterday the 17-member committee won't finish its work until next spring, but that it will make tentative recommendations this fall on merger and other issues.
Eliot House Gift
President Bok said yesterday he is meeting with several masters on the issue of whether individual Houses as Eliot House did earlier this month.
Bok said he will decide in the next few days whether Harvard needs a definite policy on gifts like the $20,000 an alumnus gave to Eliot for a House arts program.
Moore Rising
The Board of Overseers confirmed Jonathan Moore this week as director of the Institute of Politics, but members of the Institute's student advisory board are still angry that nobody consulted them about Moore's appointment.
"We're not mad at Moore," one member of the student board said yesterday. "It's just that we don't know anything about him. We intend to make it clear to Moore when he comes here that we want to be consulted on all Institute decisions."
