DARTMOUTH-CORNELL HOCKEY

Sophomore John Harper scored one goal and had three assists in leading Cornell to a 6-4 hockey victory over Dartmouth Friday night.

The victory pushed the Big Red's ECAC Division I record to 9-5-1. Dartmouth is 10-7 in league play.

The visitors were paced by a three-goal performance from Tom Fleming, who scored two of his goals within a 20-second span of the second period, bringing Dartmouth to within a goal of Cornell, 3-2.

But Stephen Bajonski and Gordon McCormick followed with goals for Cornell, pushing its lead to 5-2. Dave Groulx's second goal of the night further insured the victory. SKIERS PLACE SIXTH

The Crimson ski team tied St. Lawrence for sixth place yesterday at the Williams Winter Carnival in Williamstown. Ten colleges competed in the first day of events, and defending champion Middlebury ended up on top of the heap with 85 points.

Dartmouth placed second with 63 points, followed by Vermont 54, New Hampshire 39, New England 31, Williams 31, St. Lawrence 16, Harvard 16, Maine 5 and Bates 4.
